Facebook Report Phishing Scam

Another email where scammers are pretending the email they have sent is from facebook, they have spoofed or faked the sender facebook email address. How do I know it is a phishing email, where scammers are seeking login details to your facebook account? Read on and see if you can spot the "red flags"...

E-Mail received:

No date

From: Facebook support@facebookmail.com

To: [Name and email address redacted]

Subject: We received a report about your post

Notes:

The sender email address appears to be a genuine facebook address but there are ways that the sender email address can be faked.

The click through web address: https://post-rose.vercel.app/ is a definite "red flag"... it is not a facebook web address, someone appears to have used the vercel app to create a copy of a facebook login page where your details can be harvested.

One more thought... if the post has been hidden whilst Facebook reviews it then a post must have been posted. If the post has been posted on your page then it has been posted either by you, someone else with your permission or someone without your permission who has hacked your account.

There is no point in there being a statement "if you didn't post this content, you can ignore this message". If content has been posted then you cannot ignore this notification from facebook. Now no content has been posted and no one has reported you as this is a fake facebook email but if you have any doubts that you might have posted something on facebook that might have broken their guidelines then log into your facebook account using your normal way of logging in not the link in this email and you can, if needed contact facebook from your facebook account page.

Recommendation: Do not clck on the link, Ignore and delete the email
